01 Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how ChloeZ ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website or use our platform (together, the "Services"). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly how we handle personal data.
By continuing to use the Services with cookies enabled in your browser, you consent to our use of cookies as described in this Policy, except where we ask for your consent separately (for example, for non-essential cookies via our cookie banner).
02 What Are Cookies & Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site recognise your device and remember information about your visit, such as your preferences or whether you're logged in. Cookies we set ourselves are "first-party" cookies; cookies set by services we work with, such as Google Analytics, are "third-party" cookies. We also use similar technologies, such as local storage and pixel tags, which work in a comparable way. For simplicity, we refer to all of these collectively as "cookies" in this Policy.
03 Types of Cookies We Use
| Category | Purpose |
| Essential | Required for core functionality — signing in, keeping your session active, remembering items in progress, and security features such as protecting your requests against forgery. The Services won't work properly without these, so they can't be turned off. |
| Performance & analytics | Help us understand how the Services are used — which pages are visited, how long a Live Class session runs, where errors occur — so we can improve them. Currently set through Google Analytics and typically aggregated. |
| Preference | Remember choices you've made, such as a dismissed announcement, your preferred display settings, or partially completed onboarding steps. |
The table below lists the specific cookies currently set on our website.
| Name | Category | Purpose | Duration |
XSRF-TOKEN | Essential | Protects against cross-site request forgery by verifying that requests to the platform genuinely came from you. | 2 hours |
chloez-session | Essential | Keeps you signed in and remembers your session as you move between pages. | 2 hours |
_ga | Performance & analytics | Set by Google Analytics to distinguish individual visitors, so we can understand usage of the Services in aggregate. | ~13 months |
_ga_<container-id> | Performance & analytics | Set by Google Analytics alongside _ga to calculate visits and sessions for a given browser. | ~13 months |
This list reflects the cookies we know we set directly and is reviewed periodically. Third-party services we rely on, such as our payment processor during checkout, may set additional cookies of their own — see Section 4.
04 Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on the Services are set by third parties we work with, rather than by ChloeZ directly. This includes our payment processors (Paystack, and, for select payment methods, Stripe and NOWPayments) during checkout, video-conferencing infrastructure during Live Classes, and Google Analytics — see the _ga and _ga_<container-id> cookies in Section 3. These third parties have their own privacy and cookie practices, which we encourage you to review; Google's is available at business.safety.google/privacy.
05 How Long Cookies Last
- Session cookies are temporary and are deleted once you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period so the Services can remember you across visits — for example, keeping you signed in. Our own essential cookies currently last around 2 hours, while the Google Analytics cookies described in Section 3 can last up to around 13 months.
06 How to Manage or Disable Cookies
You can manage non-essential cookies at any time using Cookie settings in the footer of our site. Most browsers also let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings menu — the exact steps vary by browser, so check your browser's help documentation for instructions. You can also opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google's browser add-on.
Please note that blocking or deleting essential cookies may prevent parts of the Services — including signing in and completing a Live Class or CBT exam — from working correctly.
07 Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for legal or regulatory reasons. Where changes are material, we'll provide reasonable notice, such as an in-app notice or email, before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when this Policy was last revised.
